The REACH (EC) Regulation No. 1907/2006 is also linked to legislation in the workplace and therefore companies have an obligation to assess risks and ensure that workers are protected based on the information provided on the labels and the Safety data sheet (SDS). In the EU, the safety data sheets specified in Article 31 of the REACH Regulation are legally required for chemical products.
The SDS should include control parameters for workplace prevention measures that are the occupational exposure limit values (OEL) for the substance, mixtures, as well as for air pollutants that are expected to form during use. In addition, when a chemical safety report ( CSR ) is required, the relevant DNELs and PNECs for the exposure scenarios in the SDS will be detailed from this report.
